The Whatever’s outline looks strikingly directional, yet its contact surface is twin. It’s the ultimate board for those seeking the best of both worlds. Perfect for park days, hot laps, or powder lines, the Whatever embodies versatility. Part of our Unisex collection, it caters to riders of all sizes with an extensive length range.
Shape
Outline Shape
Directional twin shape offering balanced performance and versatility.
Nose Sidebase Uplift – Medium
The gradual side base uplift in the nose determines how the board will behave on snow. Most affected are the edge-to-edge performance and the uplift generated when riding powder.
Tail Sidebase Uplift – Medium
The gradual side base uplift in the tail determines how the board will behave on snow. Any amount of uplift brings all the benefits of Triple Base Technology, making our boards more versatile than others.
Camber Profile – Medium Camber
Camber profiles are defined from low to high. Higher camber makes for more dynamic boards that need to be ridden more aggressively to get maximum performance. Lower camber boards are smoother on lower speeds and in powder. All camber profiles run from nose to tail. Higher is not always better.
3D Shape – 3BT™ & Sidekick™
Combining the responsiveness of traditional tip-to-tail camber with the dynamic shaping properties of Triple Base Technology and the performance-boosting Sidekick feature makes for a 3D snowboarding experience like no other.
Features
Technology
At the heart of every Bataleon is a combination of 3BT™ and positive camber. It’s an innovative solution to the profile puzzle that minimizes the potential for edge-catch without sacrificing ollie power or carving performance. From this starting point, we fine-tune each element according to the board’s desired riding style.
3D Shaping
SideKick™ builds on the concept of Triple Base by increasing the sidebase uplift just outside the widest points of the nose and tail. The tips become more like a hull, boosting float in deep snow and slicing through crud. It also helps the board to roll quickly and evenly from edge to edge.
Construction
Supertubes™ are hollow carbon cylinders that are inserted directly into the core. They reinforce the camber, reduce weight, and greatly increase pop. By varying their location, we can fine-tune the board’s performance further.
Construction
Glassing – Bi-Ax Lamination
A traditional two-way weave that is light, strong, and playful; it keeps the board snappy without adding torsional stiffness, which is great for getting creative.
Woodcore – Light Core
50/50 Paulownia and poplar create a balanced core that’s lively yet strong.
Base – Hyper Glide S
Our standard sintruded base that’s durable and fast – and even faster when you keep it waxed.
Sidewalls – Flex Walls
Our Urethane Poured Sidewalls offer exceptional shock absorption, reducing chatter and vibration for a smoother, more stable ride. Flexwalls provide flexibility and resilience, allowing the board to maintain its integrity even in extreme conditions. With superior impact resistance, they ensure your snowboard performs at its peak, season after season.
Inserts – 28 Inserts
A-grade German stainless steel inserts make sure you are locked to your board. These high-quality inserts can take years of binding stance switches.
Layup & Laminate – Carbon Stringers
Our tried and true carbon layups. We insert them in different areas to fine-tune the feel of each model.
Tech – D.S.T. SuperTubes
Dual Super Tubes, a Super Tube on either side of the board, enhance pop and give the camber more snap.
Base Graphic – Flip Flop Base
Die-cut bases are like a jigsaw. Flip Flop minimizes waste by using two or more color options for each piece. That means more unique graphics and less environmental harm.
Inserts – +2 Backseat Inserts
Backseat inserts are a set of extra inserts 4 cm on the front insert pack and 2 cm on the rear insert pack. This allows you to set your bindings all the way back so you can keep floating on those deep pow days. By shifting your weight back on the board, the nose stays up and the pressure on your back leg is reduced.
