The Flair 79 from Volkl is a touch wider than traditional carving piste skis. That allows the ski to handle a more versatile range of snow conditions while the high-tech construction makes sure it retains every bit of firm snow carving performance that strong skiers will expect.
The unique 3D Ridge construction is instantly recognisable- with a reinforced backbone section of the ski, power is transmitted to the sidewall and edges more efficiently through milled-out sections towards the edge of the wood core. This is further amplified by Volkl's wide-ride integrated binding system which is built into the 3D ridge of the ski so rather than transmitting your energy and power through the binding into the ski via screws it is directly applied to the ski edges. A metal laminate and dual wood core construction add further to the torsional strength of the ski, meaning the Flair 79 can hold an amazingly stable, predictable carve even at high speeds and over choppy snow.
A camber profile runs the majority of the ski, and that works in perfect unison with a Full Sidewall to ensure that the skis' edges stay planted on the snow through the turn and rebound straight into the next one - there's a slight tip and tail rocker which eases turn initiation, as well as helping the skis tip to cut through and over softer snow types.
All of these features combine to make a ski that performs with ease. Advanced to expert level skiers looking for an all-mountain ski with a piste focus will love the Flair 79 from Volkl skis.
